What We’re Reading April 2019

People sometimes ask what we are reading or what they should read themselves. Our plan is to give a random sample of research or relevant writing at least once a month.  There are no priorities or level of importance indicated by having the articles on this list.  It is more about some items we have found interesting. It is also sources that we believe are public. We pay for a great deal of research and we cannot include those articles.

A short blog post from the American College on factors that are affecting the age when people retire. Interestingly enough, most people do not retire when they originally expected.

2. How to Draw a Steady Paycheck in Retirement – Kiplinger

We often speak on the difficulty in retirement investing. There are some nice points in this article talking about not only the challenges, but the options available for retiree’s today.

3. Factor Olympics, Q1 2019 – Factor Research

It has been quite a first quarter for the market. Which types of stocks outperformed others? Interesting analysis on which factors came out on top and did well in the first quarter.

4. Six Takeaways on the Latest Trends in Risk Management – FactSet

This is a more technical blog but some interesting take-away’s on one of our favorite topics, risk management.

5. What Does “Inverted Yield Curve” Mean? – Morningstar

You may have heard that term over the last month or so. Morningstar does a great job of breaking down what it mean’s and why it may or may not be important.
